Ballarat foodie tour
BE A PART OF IT
Experience the wonder of slow travel
Carefully curated walking tours to experience hidden gems of Ballarat’s landscape, history, food and art.

This carefully curated foodie tour will guide you to discover the hidden gems, beautiful scenery, experiences, and most unique food of Ballarat. The tour will be updated every year to include different food experiences if applicable. The tour will be a guided tour initially, and then likely become a self-guided tour as well.
A Slow Travel BALLARAT FOODIE walking TOUR
Beautifully curated slow travel experiences
These slow travel guides are designed for adventurous families, couples (30-40 y.o.), and Baby Boomers to discover little known tracks, history, cultural/art and food/dining experiences in the Ballarat region. We aim to develop 3-5 slow travel self guided tours.
Within the guidebook will be beautifully hand drawn maps, with a designated route that will incorporate local businesses, artists and history to enjoy along the way.
A GPS link will guide travellers on their journey, and QR codes and links will deepen the experience with videos, images and podcasts.
Experiences and businesses will be carefully curated for each route to ensure the best experience.

Inclusion in the foodie tour
Slow Travel Journeys - our inspiration creating a Slow Travel Guide for South Korea’s Jeju Island walking/cycling trail.
Jarrod and Emma, Hidden Lanes creators spent 9 years in South Korea, and during that time created video content and a slow travel guide to Korea’s Jeju Island. The journey was a walking or cycling route that included beautiful scenery, funky cafes, art galleries and nature. We even made a film about the journey, that was featured in the Korean Expat Film Festival and Berlin Bicycle Festival. This style of slow journeying includes meandering along laneways, taking your time to take photos, take in the scenery and buy local produce. We’re inspired to make something similar for Ballarat!
