  • This self guided tour is available year round, Wednesday-Saturday 11am-4pm except on public holidays and the Summer school holidays (generally December 22-18 January) when most businesses are closed. We recommend a nice sunny day to do it, and if you would like to visit a particular business/art studio please check their opening times and get in touch with them for 100% certainty.

  • This is a full day walk, and includes around 6km of walking, and takes 3-5 hrs depending on how long you spend at the various stops. You can also do a shorter version starting at Main Road, which is around 3km of walking, taking a 2-3 hrs (including the stops and experiences).

  • No, this is definitely not solely a “history walk” or tour. This is a slow travel self guided tour which focuses on a beautiful journey (walking or cycling) while enjoying local culture, produce, art as well as a few history story podcasts along the way. History stories and artist/business stories are access via links in the book via podcast or video.

  • If you’re not entirely happy with your guidebook download, please see our refunds page for a refund. We totally understand if you have purchased this guidebook by mistake, or it was not what you were looking for and we have a very easy refund process.

  • Download this guidebook onto your phone as soon as you get the download link. Flip your phone on it’s side to scroll through the guidebook and read it easily. Use the links to access the Google Map directions, history audio and video stories. Make sure you have some data on your phone before you go.

  • We designed this self guided tour for adventurous, active 20-60+ year olds who are interested in culture, history, mindfulness, local produce, art and culture. But if you are outside this demographic, of course you are more than welcome to do this self guided tour!

  • Currently this is only available as a digital download. (In the near future we will be printing a physical guidebook with QR codes.)

  • This slow travel guide is designed for walking, following the Google map direction links in the guidebook. But you can most certainly cycle or use a scooter, however please follow the road rules and modify the route as needed.

  • Yes, we have chosen the routes and selected stops and businesses that are primarily locally owned and run to support ethical travel. We also emphasize an eco-friendly way to travel and include eco-friendly businesses if available.
