Celebrate the powerful, silent flight of Australia’s largest owl, the Powerful Owl, native to the eucalypt forests of south-eastern Australia. Designed in Ballarat by local artist Jarrod Hall and printed in Australia, this tea towel brings together Art Nouveau style and the rich natural heritage of our woodlands.
From Queensland’s ranges, through the forests of New South Wales and across into South Australia, this nocturnal apex predator watches over its territory. Many First Nations nations regard large forest owls as guardians of Country and symbols of forest health. (Symbolism varies between language groups.)
The design frames the Powerful Owl amid the native wildflowers, grasses and shrubs of the region: Chocolate Lilies, Button Everlastings and Bluebells, reflecting the flora that surrounds its forest realm.
