The artwork is inspired by the Art Nouveau design movement of the early 20th century and by the flora, fauna and history of the Ballarat region. All the plants, animals and places in this design can be found in and around Ballarat.

• southern old lady moth (Dasypodia selenophora). 

• sundews, a small carnivorous plant in the drosera genera.

• pink-bells (Tetratheca thymifolia) 

• chocolate lily (Dichopogon strictus)

• triggerplant (Stylidium armeria)

• native leek (Bulbine bulbosa).

• coral pea (Hardenbergia violacea) 

At the bottom of the artwork showcases Ballarat’s two famous volcanic peaks, Mount Warrenheip and Mount Buninyong.
